We arrived in the Ligurian coast with a notebook full of places to go. By the second morning, the list had become less important. There was a familiar corner, a change in the weather and no particular reason to hurry.

A different kind of itinerary

One small journey became the shape of the day. We stopped where the light changed, returned to a place we had almost passed, and noticed how much of a visit happens between its planned destinations.

Some places invite us to explore. Others ask us to pay attention.

Keeping the small things

A note does not have to become a recommendation. It can simply hold a colour, a sound or a conversation that would otherwise disappear. We kept a few of those details and left room for the next morning.

The camera was useful, but so was putting it away. A slower journal makes space for photographs and for the experiences that remain outside the frame.

One last morning

Before leaving, we took the familiar path once more. Nothing much had changed. Only the way we were looking, and the things we wanted to carry home.
