Elsewhere Refund & Cancellation Policy Policy version 1.0 — 26 October 2026 A straightforward 14-day refund promise for your Elsewhere theme purchase, alongside the rights you have under applicable law. 1. What this policy covers This policy applies to purchases of the Elsewhere Ghost theme made directly from Atelier Themes when this policy is presented as part of the order. Elsewhere is a digital download licensed for one production Ghost publication. The purchase includes 12 months of access to released updates and email support, as described in the accompanying commercial license and support policy. This policy covers your purchase of the theme. It does not govern subscriptions sold to readers on a Ghost website, Ghost hosting, domain registrations, SMTP services, Stripe accounts or other third-party purchases. If you buy through an authorized reseller or a merchant of record, use the refund channel identified on your receipt; that seller handles payment processing and any additional terms it disclosed before purchase. Nothing here reduces rights granted by that seller or by applicable law. 2. Our 14-day refund promise If Elsewhere is not right for you, you may request a full refund within 14 calendar days of the original purchase. This applies even if you have downloaded, installed, tested or customized the theme. You do not need to prove a defect or complete troubleshooting to use this promise. A reason is optional and helps us improve the product. The request must be sent within 14 days of the purchase timestamp shown on your order confirmation. We use the time your request was sent, not the time we read or process it. Keep a copy of your request. This voluntary promise is in addition to your statutory rights, which may apply for longer. 3. Canceling an order Before payment is completed, you can leave checkout without placing an order. If you see a pending card authorization but no completed order, contact us or the payment provider shown at checkout so we can check its status; a pending authorization is not the same as a captured payment. If payment has already completed, email contact@atelierthemes.com to cancel the purchase and request a refund under this policy. Digital delivery may happen immediately, so we cannot promise to stop delivery before your message arrives. Receiving the download does not remove our 14-day refund promise. 4. Duplicate payments and delivery problems If you were charged twice for the same intended purchase, contact us with the order references. We will refund a verified duplicate charge. If two separate license orders were created by mistake, we will also refund the unused extra license. These requests are not limited to the voluntary 14-day period. A separate license intentionally used for another website is not a duplicate payment. If you do not receive your files or cannot access the supplied download, contact us so we can restore delivery. If we cannot deliver the purchased product, we will refund the affected order. You may instead use the 14-day promise without waiting for troubleshooting, and any statutory right to a remedy remains available. 5. Defects and requests after 14 days After the voluntary 14-day period, we do not ordinarily offer a refund solely because you changed your mind. This does not limit refunds for verified duplicate payments, non-delivery, an additional written promise made with your order or any remedy required by applicable law. If the theme is faulty, materially differs from its description or does not meet an applicable consumer guarantee, contact us with details. We will provide the remedy required by the law that applies to your purchase, which may include repair, replacement, a price reduction or a refund. Where the law gives you a choice of remedy, that choice remains yours. Mandatory rights are not subject to our 14-day limit or the 12-month support period. We may ask for reasonable information to understand a reported defect. You are not required to disclose passwords, private member data or unrestricted server access. Custom changes do not automatically disqualify a claim concerning a defect in the original theme. 6. How to request a refund Email contact@atelierthemes.com with the subject “Elsewhere refund request”. Include your order number or receipt reference and the email address used for the purchase. If you cannot find the order number, contact us with the information you have so we can help locate it. For a claim about duplicate billing or a technical defect, include a brief description and relevant order references or reproduction steps. A reason is not required for a request under the 14-day promise. Do not send a full card number, password, API key, member list or database export. Redact private details from screenshots. We will confirm the outcome by email. If we decline a request, we will explain why and you may reply with additional information. You do not need to use a particular form to exercise a statutory cancellation or refund right. 7. How refunds are paid An approved full refund returns the amount paid for the affected order, including seller-collected taxes that must be returned. We do not charge a refund administration or restocking fee. Refunds are normally sent to the original payment method through the seller or payment processor identified on the receipt. We will not substitute store credit without your agreement. For our voluntary refunds, we aim to initiate the refund within five business days after confirming eligibility and locating the payment. Any shorter legal deadline takes priority. Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to show the credit. We will provide confirmation when the refund is initiated. Exchange-rate differences or fees charged independently by your bank are outside our control; this does not reduce amounts we are legally required to refund. 8. Your license after a refund When a full refund of the original theme purchase is processed, the usage license and update/support entitlement attached to that order end. Stop using the proprietary Elsewhere theme on the licensed website and its staging copies, and remove the proprietary installable copies and backups you control, except records that must be kept by law. You may replace the theme and retain your own posts, images, publication data and independently created content. You may retain independently licensed third-party components under their own licenses. A refund does not revoke their separate license rights. We do not disable your Ghost account or take ownership of your content. If the license was handed over to a client or a new owner of the same website, coordinate the refund with them: that transferred license ends too. A refund affects only the refunded license, not other valid licenses you hold. A partial refund or price reduction does not end your license unless expressly agreed and lawful. Statutory rules take priority if they require a different outcome. 9. Updates, support and renewal purchases Elsewhere is a one-time theme purchase with 12 months of included updates and support. There is no automatic recurring charge under the commercial license. You do not need to cancel a subscription to prevent a renewal fee. At the end of those 12 months, you may continue using versions you lawfully received. Expiry alone does not create a refund entitlement, end the usage license or disable the website. You may choose a separate update/support renewal if one is offered. If you separately purchase a renewal under this policy, its payment has its own 14-day refund period. A full refund of that renewal cancels only the additional update/support entitlement purchased with it; it does not cancel your original unrefunded usage license or entitlements remaining from an earlier unrefunded purchase. No new update downloads or support may be obtained under the refunded renewal. Copies lawfully received before the refund remain subject to your original usage license. 10. Statutory cancellation and consumer rights Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or replaces rights that cannot lawfully be waived, including rights concerning faulty or misdescribed digital content, non-delivery and any applicable cooling-off or withdrawal period. If mandatory law gives you a longer period or a different remedy, that law takes priority. We do not treat a download, installation or acceptance of general terms alone as a waiver of a statutory withdrawal right. Where applicable law permits a separate valid consent process for immediate digital delivery, any effect of that consent must be explained and recorded separately at checkout. It does not remove remedies for defective content or our voluntary 14-day refund promise. This policy does not require you to waive access to your payment provider, a consumer authority, a court or another lawful dispute-resolution route. You may contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue directly. 11. Policy version and related terms The policy supplied with your purchase applies to that purchase. Later changes do not retroactively reduce the refund rights you were offered. The Elsewhere Single Website commercial license governs use of the theme; this policy adds the rules for cancellation, refunds and the effect of a refund on that license. Mandatory rights always take priority. For licensing, support, cancellation or refund questions, contact contact@atelierthemes.com. The seller’s legal identity and other required business details must be shown at checkout and on your receipt.
